Last updated: October 1, 2026. This notice describes how Confluence Culture (ConfluenceCulture.events) handles information for our map-first regional events service.
What we collect
- Account data — when you register: name, email, and authentication details (including Google sign-in if you choose it). Phone may be used for claim verification when required.
- Event content — listings you submit or claim, and public event facts we ingest from sources you or admins add.
- Subscriptions — email address and filter preferences for digests, with double opt-in confirmation before we send marketing-style digests.
- Usage analytics (optional) — anonymous first-party events (for example page views and shares) only if you opt in via the cookie banner. See the cookie notice.
- Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics on every page to measure site traffic (for example pages visited, referring sites, and general device and location information). Google sets its own cookies and processes this data. See the cookie notice.
- Aggregate operational counts — when you follow a shared event link that carries a
?src=tag (for example from a QR code or a social post), we count that visit on our server so event organizers can see how their outreach performs. These counts are aggregate only: they use no cookies and are not linked to your identity, account, or browsing session, and they do not depend on your cookie choices. We similarly record organizer and administrative actions (such as claims being granted) as operational records. - Reports & moderation — reason and optional note when someone reports a listing; admin audit records for privileged actions.
How we use it
- Operate discovery, accounts, claims, ratings, and organizer tools.
- Send transactional email (verification, password reset) and confirmed digests.
- Moderate content, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
- Improve the product using Google Analytics and opted-in first-party analytics — not advertising networks.
Cookies & similar storage
Necessary cookies support sign-in and security. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure traffic. Our optional first-party analytics storage is off by default. Details and controls: Cookies.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We use processors that help run the service (for example hosting, email delivery, object storage, CAPTCHA, and Google Analytics for site traffic measurement). Public event pages and feeds may include listing facts you publish or that are publicly sourced.
Retention
We keep account and listing data while your account or the listing remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security, disputes, and legal obligations. Digest subscriptions end when you unsubscribe or we delete the record. First-party analytics events, when collected, are retained as product metrics; Google Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our Google Analytics property.
Your choices
- Update or delete account data from your account settings where available.
- Unsubscribe from digests via the link in every digest email.
- Change first-party analytics consent anytime from the cookie notice.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (linked in the cookie notice).
- Contact us at Contact for privacy questions or deletion requests.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date on this page.
