Installation of Non-Gated Playground
Listed via chinookobserver.com
DJHCC is doubling down on its physical presence at the port, which most immediately includes the addition of a non-gated playground that has received the needed permitting and is anticipated to be installed in the first quarter of 2027. While the kids may face some initial dismay — climbing the mountain of bark chips that has been placed in advance of the installation has become a favorite for many, Bruncke noted — the playground will bolster outdoor and recreational opportunities on-site for the community center. Features include three slides, a mini rock-climbing wall and spinners. "The kids are very excited," said Bruncke. "We’re hinting at it but haven’t given them a timeline yet, because they’re already excited and I can’t let their excitement grow too much."
