Ric’s is a welcoming, free and friendly open mic for poets and prose writers, experienced and not. It was begun by the late Ric Vrana, for whom it is named. Per open mic protocol, each signed-up reader has a time limit at the mic of five minutes to read original or favorite work of poetry or creative prose. The event is now on the first Tuesday of the month at Winekraft, a wine bar at foot of 11th St., with sign-up starting at 6:30, readings from 7 p.m. Listeners very welcome. Wine, beer and N/A beverages available for purchase.
