SUMMARY:Wit & Wisdom: A Special Philosofarian x North Coast Watershed Asso
 ciation Conversation – Nature\, Power & Language
LOCATION:Fort George Brewery Lovell Showroom\, 1483 Duane St. Astoria\, Or
 egon 97103
DESCRIPTION:We say nature is worth protecting. But how do we say why? And
is it possible to talk honestly about nature at all? Calling a forest a re
 source\, a habitat\, a wilderness\, a home\, or something sacred can chang
e what we notice and what we value. How do we express nature’s value witho
ut reducing it to our own uses or assumptions? What can poetry reveal that
ordinary description misses? And who gets to decide which ways of talking
about nature are taken seriously? Philosophers Strand Sheldahl-Thomason a
nd Seth Tichenor join poet Logan Garner for one conversation about nature\
, value\, expression\, and power. Doors open at 6pm with food and beverage
s available via the Taproom window\, talk starts at 7pm. All ages welcome
and never a cover. The Thursday Lecture Series is a recurring community le
cture series every Thursday\, October through May. Thank you to our 2026/2
